Mission
Statement
The Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians recognize that the survival and destiny of tribal governments are directly and/or indirectly dependent upon each tribe's natural resources and environment, both on and off reservation. This committee promotes the preservation, protection and enhancement of these resources to the maximum extent possible, and believes that decisions regarding development of these resources are the sole responsibility objectives. The committee encourages Northwest Tribes to assert their sovereign regulatory authority over tribal resources and environment and to establish government-to-government relationships with state and federal agencies concerning co-management of mutual resources and environment.
The mission of the ATNI Land Committee is to assist tribal governments in preserving their sovereign right to protect and control the cultural and political integrity of their reservation homelands.
